We're more than a teeny bit obsessed with Stella McCartney's Resort Collection for 2010. The lace jumpsuit pictured below is a piece Stella herself rocked at the Met Ball in NYC a month or so back, but it's the sequin leggings with the knotted crisp white shirt that we're majorly crushing on. That is a fabulous outfit, if we do say so ourselves. While the lace jumpsuit would be pretty difficult to recreate, the leggings and white shirt combo is totally DIY-able.
Stella's leggings retail for around $800, which I'm guessing is out of the price range for most of us. If you were smart enough to snag a pair of the sequin leggings that Express was carrying earlier this year, lucky you- they're perfect for this outfit. They're sold out online, but you might still be able to find them at a few Express stores. Topshop's website is currently carrying a pair of sequin leggings, but they're silver, not black. If you're daring enough to rock the silver, click here.
If you're thinking you need the black for a slimming effect, check out this pair. They're only $20, but for a trend that's bound to be shunned in a couple of years, they're perfect. By the time you get to the "oh my god how could I wear that what was I thinking" moment, they'll be unwearable and you won't be crying over the fact that you spent $200 of your hard earned cash on a pair of pants so hideous.
If you don't want to go full out sequined, check out these from American Apparel. They've still got sparkle, but they're not so in your face.
Lastly, snag one of your boyfriend's white shirts, tie a knot, and voila! Stella Resort chic!
