As much as many people wish the leggings trend would just vanish, it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Quite the contrary, really, it seems leggings, especially patterned ones, are going to be big for fall and perhaps even through the winter. The eighties has been back in a big way, especially on the Fall 2009 runways - so it's no surprise that this party girl trend doesn't want to leave.

American Apparel is, of course, the go-to brand for patterned leggings. We're crushing on these babies.   But at $42 a pop, getting a variety of patterns isn't exactly affordable. Enter cheap and chic favorite Forever21. They've jumped on the leggings bandwagon in a big way, with a variety of patterns available! Check out these groovy ones, or these black and white ones for just $9.80. Why spend over $40 when you can spend under $10?

When my favorite cheap and chic retailer Forever21 announced that they would soon launch a plus size line, I was skeptical. Bigger girls + flimsy crappy fabrics generally equals disaster. However, today, during my regular "put stuff that I can't actually afford into my online shopping cart" excursion, I saw that F21 had officially introduced the Faith21 plus size line To my surprise, not all the pieces are terrible! Some are actually kind of cute - especially when dressed up with nicer pieces.

God, I LOVE Forever21. I wonder at what age I'll grow out of my adoration for the fast fashion chain. I can't imagine a world in which I didn't stop into to F21 for cheap fashionable basics. 

For instance, check out the swimsuits below. They're all priced around $13. Where else could you get a swimsuit for $13? Nowhere! Perhaps Old Navy, but those are often a big fugly, no? These babies are F-A-B fabulous! That cutout black one piece reminds me of the bathing suit Audrina wore on The Hills (the episode where she and Lauren followed the "boys weekend" to Hawaii). And I'm loving the bright colorful bikinis! Not to mention, that white triangle two piece is very Lohan.

This gorgeous pearl and ribbon necklace crafted by feminine fashion genius Alber Elbaz of Lanvin for his Spring 2009 collection. Per usual, the Lanvin piece, which comes in a bevy of beautiful colors, will run you around $2k - just a teensy bit impossible for those of us struggling to pay our rent for that same price. 

Though pretentious fashionistas all around are hating on Forever21 for creating this piece, I think it's a) the nature of the industry for fast fashion retailers to knock off expensive pieces for us poor people to buy and b) a great look for less! Forever21 has replaced the details in Elbaz's piece with rhinestones, but it's still a close enough replica.

As I told you, Forever21 will soon debut a new, higher quality (but still low priced) line, Love21. As of today, they posted a few shots of the new line in a lookbook on their website. I've already seen some of these pieces in person, and I can vouch for their higher quality - they're fantastic styles that don't look as trashy cheap as the original Forevs' stuff but are still affordable. What could be better? Check out a few pages of the lookbook below, and head to stores on May 19th when the line debuts!
